Light, crunchy crostini topped with a creamy whipped herb cheese and fresh diced peppers. It’s simple, colorful, and ridiculously easy to throw together — the kind of appetizer that disappears the second it hits the counter!

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into thin rounds – or for extra homemade vibes, use this fast and easy Dutch Oven No-Knead Bread recipe!
  • Olive oil (for brushing)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup ricotta or sour cream (for whipping)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning or your favorite herbs
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Diced red and green bell peppers (or any colorful veggies)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Brush bread slices with olive oil and bake 6–8 minutes until lightly golden.
  • In a bowl, whip cream cheese with ricotta/sour cream until smooth and fluffy.
  • Stir in garlic powder, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread a generous swipe of whipped herb cheese onto each crostini.
  • Top with diced red and green peppers (keep it festive and colorful!).
  • Serve immediately — or refrigerate the cheese mixture and assemble right before guests arrive.

Tips & Variations

  • Add a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a sweet finish.
  • Mix in chopped olives or sun-dried tomatoes to the cheese.
  • Add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for heat.
  • Swap peppers for cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, or roasted veggies.
  • Toast baguette slices ahead of time — just store in an airtight container.
  • If you LOVE garlic, rub a clove of raw garlic on the hot bread just after it has been toasted – it’ll add an amazing flavor depth in every bite!
