Garlic Butter Chicken Recipe (Easy, Juicy & Flavor-Packed)

This garlic butter chicken is what you make when you want something that tastes like you tried… but you absolutely did not. Juicy, golden chicken simmered in a rich garlic butter sauce that’s simple, fast, and wildly good (like “why don’t I make this every week?” good;).

Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts (or 4 small), sliced in half horizontally
  • Salt and pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5–6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley, for finishing

Instructions

  • Season the chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder (don’t be shy here — this is your epic base flavor).
  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, lower heat to medium and add the butter.
  • Once melted, add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant (not browned — we’re going for cozy, not burnt;).
  • Pour in the chicken broth, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using.
  • Let it simmer for a couple minutes to pull up all those golden bits from the pan (that’s epic flavor GOLD).
  • Return the chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over the top. Let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes so everything gets coated and happy.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Variations

  • Want it extra saucy? Add another splash of broth (you’ll want bread for this situation;).
  • Swap chicken breasts for thighs if you want even juicier and richer results.
  • Add a splash of white wine with the broth for a slightly fancier level-up type of situation
  • Throw in spinach at the end and let it wilt for an easy upgrade.
  • A little grated parmesan melted into the sauce = not traditional, but very hard to argue with!
  • Drizzle with honey and some cayenne pepper if you want a hot-honey version
