Christmas Donut Pops (Cake Mix Shortcut;)

These Christmas Donut Pops are what happens when cake mix meets pure holiday joy! Soft, fluffy mini donuts get dipped in green chocolate, sprinkled with festive cheer, and popped on a stick for easy snacking (and maximum cuteness). Perfect for gifting, party trays, or dunking in hot cocoa — they’re quick, merry, and totally irresistible. Recipe below!

For the Donuts:

  • 1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter or oil
  • ¾ cup milk (or buttermilk for extra richness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Glaze & Decor:

  • Popsicle sticks or wooden coffee stirrers
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • Green food coloring
  • Holiday sprinkles
  • Mini bows, crushed peppermint, or red sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease your mini donut pan — don’t forget the edges!
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake mix, egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until the batter is smooth and a little thick. (It should look pourable but not runny.)
  • Spoon or pipe the batter into each donut cavity, filling them about ¾ full.
  • Bake for ~8–10 minutes, just until the donuts spring back when gently touched.
  • Let them cool completely before decorating — warm donuts and glaze don’t mix;)

To Decorate:

  • Melt the white chocolate or candy melts until smooth, then stir in a few drops of green food coloring.
  • Dip each donut halfway into the glaze and let the extra drip off.
  • While the glaze is still soft, sprinkle on your decorations or crushed peppermint.
  • Once everything’s set, pop in the sticks so they’re easy to hold — and ridiculously cute.
