Boston Cream Poke Cake

Ingredients

• 1 box yellow cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water per box instructions)
• 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
• Milk (amount listed on pudding package)
• 1 can of chocolate frosting

Instructions

• Bake the yellow cake according to the package directions in a 9×13 pan.
• Let the cake cool until it’s about 50–60% cooled (You want it warm, but not hot.)
• Whisk together the instant vanilla pudding with milk until smooth.
• Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a skewer to poke lots of holes all over the cake.
• Slowly pour the pudding over the cake, letting it sink into the holes.
• Refrigerate until the pudding is fully set.
• Microwave the chocolate frosting for about 20 seconds until slightly runny.
• Pour the frosting over the chilled cake and gently spread if needed.
