Dutch Oven No Knead Bread

A rustic, golden-brown no-knead Dutch oven bread recipe video with a crisp, crackling crust and a dense, moist center, subtly sweetened with honey for a perfect balance of flavor and texture.

Dutch Oven No Knead Bread Recipe

Key Ingredients:

  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup honey (or less/more depending on taste preference)
  • 3 1/4 cup flour
  • 1.5 cups warm (not hot) water

Instructions:

  • Mix the warm (not hot) water with the yeast, honey and salt 
  • Fold in the flour by ~1/2 cup at a time
  • Stir ingredients together but don’t worry about mixing too well
  • Dough will be very sticky
  • Add more water and/or flour as needed to get a sticky consistency 
  • Cover dough and let rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size (put somewhere warm like a sunny window to make it rise faster)
  • Heat covered Dutch oven for ~30 minutes at 450°
  • Dust a silicone mat or parchment paper with flour 
  • Scrape the dough onto the mat or parchment paper 
  • Scoop dough from the mat or parchment paper and place into the hot Dutch oven 
  • Bake for ~20 minutes covered + 5 minutes uncovered (until light golden brown)
  • Enjoy!
