Easter Empty Tomb “Inside-Out” Cinnamon Roll Bites

These Empty Tomb Rolls are ooey-gooey inside-out cinnamon rolls with a sweet surprise—and a beautiful message! As the marshmallow melts during baking, it leaves behind an empty center, symbolizing the empty tomb of Jesus on Easter morning. They’re a meaningful (and delicious!) treat to share with family during the beautiful Easter holiday. Recipe and video included!

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 eight ounce  package refrigerated crescent rolls (makes 8 rolls)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions:

  • Separate the dough triangles
  • Mix up the cinnamon and sugar
  • Roll each marshmallow in butter, then roll into the cinnamon sugar mix
  • Place the covered marshmallow onto the crescent roll dough and roll into a ball so the dough surrounds the marshmallow
  • Pinch the edges to make sure there is a tight seal on the dough and roll it as a ball in your palms a bit to seal everything up
  • Dip the top half of the dough ball in the melted butter and then dip into the cinnamon sugar mix
  • Place into a greased pan (I use butter to grease the pan) with the cinnamon sugar side up (you can also use muffin tins)
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 13 to 15 minutes or until rolls are golden brown. (make sure to leave them in long enough to make sure the marshmallow has fully melted)
  • Allow them to cool for a few minutes before eating
  • Enjoy the warm, gooey deliciousness!

Tips:

  • Pump up the cinnamon if you like extra flavor
