Espresso Martini

The Espresso Martini is what happens when coffee and happy hour decide to collaborate! Smooth, bold, and dangerously easy to drink.. it’s the kind of cocktail that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together, even if you’re still wearing slippers;)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz freshly brewed espresso (or strong coffee, cooled)
  • ½ oz coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)
  • ½ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Coffee beans, for garnish

Instructions

  • Add vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup to a shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake hard for about 20 seconds (this will get it nice and chilled and will make that fabulous, creamy top)
  • Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
  • Float three coffee beans on top for garnish

Tips & Variations

  • No espresso machine? No problem.
    • Use strong brewed coffee (double strength) and cool it before shaking.
    • Cold brew concentrate works beautifully — mix 1 oz concentrate with 1 oz water.
    • Or dissolve 1½ tsp instant espresso powder in 1 oz hot water for a quick fix.
  • For a smoother edge, swap in vanilla vodka or add a splash of chocolate liqueur.
  • Want it extra frothy? Use slightly warm espresso and shake like you mean it!
  • Skip the simple syrup if your coffee liqueur is already sweet enough.
  • Dust with cocoa powder or grated chocolate for a dessert finish.
